Airport Master Plan
A master plan for the Town-owned airport. Moved from 2024 to 2025, then to 2026 and made conditional on a grant covering all of it.
- Amount
- $75,000
- Got
- $0
- Where it stands
- To 2026, and only if fully granted. Moved twice: 2024 to 2025 in Feb 2024, then to 2026 in Dec 2024 with the money conditional on 100% grant funding (both unanimous).
What it is
Qualicum Beach owns and runs its own airport. A master plan sets out how the site should develop and what it will cost.
The Town applied for a provincial BC Air Access Program grant of $35,000 for the plan in December 2023. The budget provision was $75,000.
In February 2024 Council moved that $75,000 from 2024 to 2025. In December 2024 it moved it again, to 2026, and made the money conditional on 100% grant funding — meaning the plan goes ahead only if a grant pays for all of it. Both decisions were unanimous.
