Qualicum Beach Election 2026

Qualicum Beach votes for one Mayor and four councillors on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Ten candidates are running: three for Mayor and seven for Council. All in-person voting is at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre, 747 Jones Street.

Vote by mail

Any registered voter can vote by mail. Fill in the Town’s application to vote by mail on the Ways to Vote page.

  • Thursday, October 15: Last day to ask for a mail ballot, by 4 pm.
  • Friday, October 16: Last day to pick up a mail ballot package, by 4 pm.
  • Saturday, October 17: Completed mail ballots must reach the Chief Election Officer by 8 pm.

Getting the ballot back in time is up to you. The Town offers curbside voting for anyone who can’t go inside the Civic Centre, and help marking a ballot. You may bring someone to translate.

Who can vote

You can vote as a resident if, on October 17, 2026, you are:

  • 18 or older
  • a Canadian citizen
  • living in British Columbia for at least six months before you register
  • living in Qualicum Beach when you register

You don’t need to own property. If you own property in Qualicum Beach but live elsewhere, you may be able to vote as a non-resident property elector: you must have owned it for at least 30 days before you register.

Registering and ID

The early registration deadlines have passed, but you can still register when you vote, at the Civic Centre on any voting day. Bring two pieces of ID that prove who you are and where you live, and at least one must show your signature. Photo ID is not required. Full voter rules from the Town.

All-candidates meetings are run by the residents’ associations, not the Town.
