Staff, Nov 2025: water reserve savings are too low, so required renewals were deferred Not stated $0 Postponed to future years Total $295,100 $0
Amount is what a group asked for, or what the Town had budgeted for its own project.
“Not stated” means no dollar figure appears in the Town’s records. Town projects include all 33 strategic
initiatives the Eaglecrest funding plan pushed back on July 23, 2025, “or until the Strategic Initiatives Reserve is
replenished from subsequent property sales.”
Behind the infrastructure numbers Water pipes. Town staff wrote in November 2025 that yearly savings for water pipe replacement are
“currently insufficient,” and that required renewals “have been deferred to future years.”
Buildings, drainage, vehicles and roads. The same report says the reserve for replacing these is
underfunded compared with what needs renewing.
Eaglecrest Drive. Replacing an old asbestos-cement water main and a storm main there is a
$2,863,000 project. In June 2026 Council applied for a federal grant. Construction is planned for 2028.
Seacrest Place. In January 2025 Council moved other capital projects back to pay $2,581,000
for slope repairs. The minutes don’t list which projects moved.
To be fair: water pipes are paid for from the Town’s separate water utility budget. None of the
Eaglecrest purchase money came from it.

Pushed back, then restored These were also moved to pay for Eaglecrest in July 2025, but later came back. They are not counted above.
Bus garage site: $1,000,000 put back in the 2026 budget (Dec 2025, 3–2).Pickleball courts, Town share: early approval for 2026 (Dec 2025, unanimous); waiting on the club’s share.Public works workplace modernization: back to $6M in 2027 and $6M in 2028 in the 2026–2030 plan; needs assessment under way. The Saahtlam Park playground, moved at the same time, is still in 2028.

About these numbers
From the Town’s own minutes, agendas, staff reports and budgets. The headline counts 13 requests from
10 groups, including 3 still postponed; it leaves out the Hamilton Marsh motion, which came from a
councillor. The Eaglecrest figure is the Town’s full project budget to 2028, adopted July 15, 2026. Last checked
September 18, 2026.
